Tipos de tarjetas

Las impresoras de tarjetas sirven logicamente para imprimir la tarjeta, pero no solo para imprimirla. Las tarjetas habitualmente también estan codificadas usando las tecnologias que permiten una identificación automática del usuario. Por esta razón las impresoras estan preparadas para imprimir y codificar la tarjeta en el mismo proceso. Existen múltiples tecnologias de identificación aplicables sobre una tarjeta plásticam por lo tanto la impresora debe de estar preparada para codificar la tarjeta con el codificador adecuado.

Además de las impresoras de tarjetas convencionales de sublimación transferencia directa y retransferencia también existe otra tacnologia que permite IMPRIMIR y BORRAR la misma tarjeta. Este tipo de impresoras de tarjetas son ideales para imprimir tarjetas en aplicaciones en que los datos impresos no son permanentes, como por ejemplo en tarjetas para gestión de visitas o tambien para tarjetas de fidelización en que se escribe un mensaje personalizado en la tarjeta después de cada compra.
