A marina has a big traffic of persons and boats, lot of them in summer, tying up during a few days and then left. When this happen marinas has to manage a high number of entrances by delivering access control RFID cards for each customer, which after have to be recollected. This causes a problem with cards delivering and recollect and a delay in entrance management in rush hours.
The solution consists in a versatile and adaptable access control system, which works with any RS-232 interface, like radiofrequency cards, Smart Cards, electronic control device or any other identification device.
Specifically, this access control to a marina is focused in cellular phone use to gain access to the marina. Through a missed call, the system recognizes the cellular phone number and allows the entrance to the marina.
Users and permissions managements are done by a web application, which provides users’ modification of permissions and organization.
ACCESS CONTROL TO A MARINA BY A MISSED CALL
Access control system to marinas is organized by cellular phones missed calls, replacing or combining RFID cards, which are registered in the system.
When a craft is arriving at the marina the crew can send the cellular phones numbers by radio in order to enter to the marina installations when needed. This phone numbers and the crew names remain associated to the craft name.
Once they have arrived at port, the crew can enter into the enclosure by its telephone numbers, and all their entrance and exits remain registered.
With this system you can give access to several cellular phone numbers during a certain time, so it’s no necessary to deliver and recollect cards. This access control system also works with any kind of RFID card or Smartcard, so it allows working in dual mode, both with missed calls and RFID cards.
Once the user arrives to the enclosure makes a missed call and the access control system verifies the phone number is registered. If the phone number is correct the access control system will activate the relay and will open the door allowing the entrance, if it’s a wrong number the door will remain closed.
The access control system to marinas is an online system in real time. Doors are permanently connected to a central server so it has an exhaustive control of who and when opens the door.
The access control system is organized through a web application situated in distributor’s server. The customer goes online by user and password and can manage users’ registering and their modifications.
Access control system managing via web allows a high flexibility for the customer, so he’s totally free for managing the registers, for modify them, etc. Access control reports can be taken out by door type, door group, customer or group of customers (associated with craft name). Users remain related to a phone number or to an ID card, if access control is done by proximity cards.
The access control system to marinas has been done with a electronic control device, but can be substitute by any other proximity reader or biometrical device, provided that it has a RS-232, Smartcard, digital fingerprint, RFID connection, etc.
This access control system allows making necessary modifications for a major adaptability to each customer needs, allowing a higher number of readers, RFID cards and missed call combining, etc. Even, if you want to put up a new door you only need to have electricity, so all system communication it’s sent by GPRS.
