Access control and ticket selling to cultural centers through an innovating system of point of sale management

This solution allows to substitute the management and the manual control of the ticket selling for a complete system that makes de whole management of the point of sale business, both the ticket selling as the access control to the centres. Its versatility makes this solution a very useful mean to fit the needs of each centre in a flexible and easy way.

Kimaldi Electronics has provided the needed electronics to carry out this solution through the communication board Kimaldi NdCAN and the code bar reader SLR-70.

TICKET SELLING AND ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM

The solution shows a whole system which carries out the basic business of the box office, and allow to manage the access control. The system has two different internal solutions:

• Basic solution allows the whole management of the most habitual box office business in an easy and safety way. It groups the four basic points of the solution, which are:
  • Server: through which get communicated all the applications. It works with SQL Server BBDD.
  • Data centre: where all data are inserted to make the ticket selling and its later management.
  • Point of sale: carries out with the ticket selling through three keys, ticket selection, the quantity and the selling. It sells to all kind of customers, through different payment ways and makes the cash balance automatically.
  • Reports: it gives information about the box office management, statistics, controls capacity and person flows, etc. All in a personalized way according to the specific needs of each centre.

• Optional solutions are integrated depending on the customer’s needs like invoicing, ticket booking, Internet buying… Among all stands up the access control where the parameter controls you can insert in each ticket are defined; the access control is showed in the ticket. The reading can be done by the museum staff through handle terminals, or in an automatic way through integrate readers in the access gates. Admits code bar systems, proximity and magnetic stripe.

The solution has been developed for several museums and cultural centres of the country and some abroad, so its adaptability to the needs of management and access control of each centre are demonstrated. Some significant examples, the centres belonging to Patrimonio Nacional, the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, The Sites and Centres of Visitants of Atapuerca, The INAH from Mexico, etc.
