Vehicles are identified at distance by Active RFID tags.
The system manages the access to a fuel distribution centre for trucks, so clients have permission to accede 24 hours / 7 days a week.
This application has been developed by a distributor of us using active radiofrequency identification technology. By this technology, we can identify anyone or anything by a long read range.
Every vehicle has a RFID tag or transponder, which are small devices that periodically broadcast by radiofrequency signals with a RFID reader. Active RFID readers receive broadcast signals from the tags with information such as identification badge, battery level…
This application manages the access to a fuel distribution centre for trucks that is available 24 hours / 7 days a week. At night there is nobody in charge of the centre, so it is the system that guarantee to authorized users the access during the night.
At every area where an access control system is required active RFID tags have been placed; they are connected to a PLC automaton device by RS-232, RS-485, IP or Wi-Fi ( with signal encryption ). By this way, PLC receives in real time the events broadcast by RFID tags and it manages the identification and authorization, and at the same time the system starts to work.
PLC sends data to the Server, supplied by Scada, that stores the events produced at the same time that supervises the floor. The system based on Active RFID technology, and managed by the software designed by our distributor, allows:
- To detect vehicles’ presence
- To manage entering and leaving system for vehicles by barriers
- To generate an historic register from the presence and entering/leaving, with information from the registration number, chassis and fleet’s number for every vehicle
- To fill up with fuel it requires the correct identification by active RFID tags and only in restricted areas.
- The Server has a remote control software to manage all the parameters from the installation by internet.
