QR code readers to open doors, turnstiles and other types of installations

Duali DQ Mini QR reader for access control in a gym (case study)

This solution combines QR code readers with smart electronics that validate scanned codes. From the centralized portal that manages the QR code, it is sent on demand to the user's mobile phone. When the user receives the code, they can bring the phone closer to the reader and the reader will read the QR code that appears on the screen.

Smart electronics connected to the reader will allow or deny access, according to established business rules.

  • 1D / 2D barcode reader, mobile and RFID card.
  • 4 "touch screen.
  • It can be installed outdoors - IP65 protection.
  • POE and Wiegand interface, RS-485, TTL input and relay.
  • 16 GB Flash memory and 1 GB RAM.

A relay was installed in the door.

The generated QR codes have a limited validity period so their operational duration lasts only a few minutes or seconds. To offer more security in the system, only an operator can create these temporary QR codes for users, which makes this type of access control safe and reliable.

QR codes (Quick Response) are getting more popular as in access control solutions.
A software is necessary to manage the QR codes that will later be validated.
