Electronic passport reader and OCR combine contactless electronic document safety reading technology with optical characters recognition. Both technologies allow acceding and extracting electronic information from passport.

Through Electronic passport you can accede to personal digital information, for that is necessary do it through a protocol which assures safety reading.

The process is as showned:

• Slide open passport through the reading OCR slot.
• Place the open Electronic passport on the reading surface to extract Basic Access Control (BAC) and encrypted information (EAC) from the electronic passport chip.
