The Evolis Primacy 2 printer allows single or double-sided printing and integrates rewrite technology for rewritable cards. It offers a high level of security and increased durability of both cards and printed data, thanks to advanced options such as encoders, UV effect, double varnish layer, internal scanner, Kineclipse® and digital erasure.

Multiple printing functions

• Prints edge-to-edge on one or two sides.

High security, card durability and plasticizing module

• Printing with UV effect to reinforce the security of the cards (optional). With specific YMCKOO ribbon.
• Double varnish overlay with YMCKOO ribbon for increased durability on printed cards, greater protection against wear and friction and higher abrasion resistance than standard YMCKO ribbon.
• Optional internal scanner for verification of elements printed on the cards
• Multiple coding options: contact, contactless and magnetic stripe chips.
• Optional lamination module for integrating advanced security and protection elements, such as varnish, patches and generic or customized holograms

Protection of printed data

• Mechanical printer locking system with key (optional) that limits access to the inside of the equipment to authorized personnel and protects consumables and components.
• Data suppression and masking by digital erasure and Kineclipse®. The information remaining on the tape after printing cannot be read thanks to a masking system (Kineclipse®). The information remaining on the tape after printing is protected by masking, and the data sent to the printer is automatically deleted from its memory.

Models

Primacy 2 can be configured in several ways. To make the right choice, it is important to decide on these four points:

1) Simplex vs. Duplex (single-sided or double-sided)

Simplex: prints on one side only. Recommended if the cards do not have information on the back or if the volume is moderate and you need a simpler configuration.
Duplex: prints on both sides automatically. Ideal if you need a reverse side with conditions, legal texts, codes, instructions, numbering or more space for design and data.

2) LCD vs. LED (user interface)

LED panel: more basic and direct option for status and warnings. It is usually sufficient in controlled environments with users accustomed to the operation.
LCD screen: more guided and intuitive, facilitates daily use and diagnostics (useful if operated by several people or if you want to reduce incidents and downtime).

3) Do you need coding (depending on the type of card)?

Choose encoding if your cards are to be used for more than just visual identification, e.g. access control, clocking in/out, authentication or internal payments.

The Primacy 2 can be configured with magnetic stripe, contact chip, contactless chip or dual encoding, depending on your system requirements.

4) Do you need lamination / lamination?

No lamination: suitable for standard use credentials. You can enhance durability with options such as double varnish coating (YMCKOO).
With lamination module: recommended if you are looking for maximum durability or increased security (patches, varnish, generic or customized holograms), especially for cards with intensive use or anti-fraud requirements.

Does the Evolis Primacy 2 print double-sided?
