In universities and educational centres, the number of people at the access entrances is very high. To control access to the university campus, a Kimaldi distributor has implemented an access control solution at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).
This access control solution features QR code readers for mobile identification.
In addition to ordinary training activities, the university manages events outside the building such as congresses, conventions and training sessions. For access control of students and event attendees, identification is carried out using QR codes available on users’ mobile phones. Duali DQ Mini readers are used to read QR codes.
The campus has an app for creating QR codes. Once they have generated the personal codes of each guest, they send them to the email and attendees can identify themselves at the readers located at the turnstiles at the entrance.
All of this is managed with Suprema’s BioStar 2 access control software that works in conjunction with the QR code generation application that is integrated into the software itself.
